The man who created a detection system used by MySpace to track and expel 29,000 American-registered sex offenders from the online social network site says Ottawa's information laws are preventing detection verification companies from tracking Canadian offenders.
Canada is an interesting country. They live to help the offenders to break the laws.
The public does not have access to the national sex offender registry -- a database that provides Canadian police services with information to investigate crimes of a sexual nature.

MySpace, which has an estimated 180 million profiles, announced Wednesday it had "partnered with Sentinel Tech to build technology to remove registered sex offenders from our site."
That's why even Canada is a resource very rich nation, it is so poor.
"Through this innovative technology, we're pleased that we've successfully identified and deleted these registered sex offenders and hope that other social networking sites follow our lead," Hemanshu Nigam, MySpace's chief security officer said in a release.
Speaking from his company's offices in Miami, Fla., Cardillo said keeping sexual predators off the Internet is no longer a technical challenge, it's become a political challenge, with only the United States freeing up information to companies like his to integrate a database of predators into a detection system.

Japanese officials agreed to work with UN inspectors after a powerful earthquake shut down the country’s largest nuclear plant and raised fresh concerns about its nuclear sector.

Afghanistan's Taliban threatened to start killing 23 South Korean hostages Wednesday if their demands were not met, and claimed responsibility for kidnapping a German journalist.

The reporter, whom officials said was seized with his translator in eastern Afghanistan while investigating civilian casualties in NATO air strikes, is the third German national in a week to be abducted in the war-torn country.

The Islamist Taliban said talks to free the Christian aid workers from South Korea had stalled and vowed to kill some of them later Wednesday if eight jailed insurgents were not released by the Afghan government.

Ahmadi charged that the government of President Hamid Karzai was "not honest in negotiations.

Memory and DNA
Scientific researchers are gradually uncovering the secrets of our DNA. They have identified the functions of and relationships between some of this material. Many genes remain a mystery and their purpose is unknown.
Sometimes, these mystery genes are called “junk DNA.” According to some researchers, this may be an inaccurate label. Because the purpose and nature of this DNA material is not understood, it certainly does not mean it is useless junk.
As is often the case in scientific discovery, the more we know, the more we realize how little we know. Each question answered can raise many new questions.
For some, our human overconfidence and even arrogance can sometimes trick us into believing that we know all of the answers.
However, in the field of genetics research, there seems to be so much that is not known, that for an open-minded person, these kinds of theories about deep DNA memories cannot be ruled-out.
To conduct our own personal research and to find out for ourselves, maybe all we need to do is listen to our inner DNA.
Listen to the voices, feelings, sights and experiences of our ancestors. Their lives, joys and fears are within us. In that way, they are with us always.

CoCo - RTHK - EastWeek Interview

Her account is somewhat different from the simple version promulgated by the RTHK spokesperson Chan Man-kuen: "Chu Pui-hing attended a private function at which a group of people ate dinner and sang kara-ike.

At around 7pm that evening, I received a call from mamasan Mimi. She called me to go to Musk Kara private club on the sixth floor of Elizabeth House in Causeway Bay to meet some clients. When I went into the room, the two male clients already had one girl to each side. I gathered that they had been there since 5pm. Mr. Chu was very happy to see me. He stood up and got me to sit down next to him while ignoring the two girls who he had before.
The slightly intoxicated Chu Pui-hing embraced her and they began to chat in a mixture of Cantonese and putonghua. Chu's putonghua was quite ordinary but he repeated praisedly her beauty and kept his hands on her breast. But Mr. Chu was not particularly dirty, because all the men looking for women are like that.
Chu Pui-hing only knew how to sing Cantonese songs. I remember that those MTV's were old-fashioned and so these must be old songs. His singing is so-so, except for the one song when he got really excited. Of all the songs that he sang, this was the one that didn't sound so dreadful. (note: Coco hummed a few notes from the song and the reporter believed that it was probably the Cantonese classic
Chu Pui-hing's drinking game play was even worse than his singing. He played
At around 9pm, Coco wanted to heat things up as well earn some extra money. So she proposed to Chu that she will do exotic dancing for HK$3,000. Chu agreed without thinking. So Coco played a list of fast songs and took off her blue dress to show an extremely sexy sailor's dress with an opening in the front down to her navel. She donned on her brunette wig and began dancing.
After a round of heated dancing, Chu asked mamasan Mimi for the price of taking Coco out. Although Chu was a regular customer at the club, this was the first time that he had ever taken a girl out. Coco had no idea who these two men were (note: the other man was a renowned racehorse owner). Coco found out that Chu was a high official and he looked honest, so she tried to maximize her returns. Usually, the standard price at Must Kara was HK$1,000 for sitting down and HK$2,500 for going out. But Coco asked for HK$6,000!
Coco's total fee for sitting down, dancing and going out totaled to HK$10,000. But Chu did not seem to be bothered and handed over the money to Mimi. Then Chu and Coco left Must Kara through the special elevator to go to Coco's apartment on Lockhart Road.
Mr. Chu must be a novice. At Must Kara, celebrities always leave separately from the girls. They also choose their own rendezvous spots. If they go to the girl's place, they may be secretly videotaped. Furthermore, Chu kept saying that he did not want to stay overnight. In this business, you do not have to tell the girl that -- she won't stop you if you get up and leave afterwards.
When Coco and Chu reached the ground floor, they were found by the entertainment reporters. I had no idea while they were photographing me. I was confused. I tried to act calm. I had no idea that Mr. Chu was hiding behind me. I only saw how ridiculous he looked from the newspapers. He was holding the wig that I handed over to him.
Chu and Coco went into a bar and then a restaurant. After calming down, Chu called a friend of help. Chu looked distressed. When the friend came over, Chu's immediate words were a loud: "This is f*ucking big trouble!"
The next day, the reports were all over the newspapers. Chu asked Mimi to apologize to Coco: "That is futile. All of Hong Kong know that I am a bar girl. With this notoriety, nobody will give me a job. I have not even received the HK$10,000."

i only wear blue jeans..
Initially, blue jeans were simply sturdy trousers worn by workers, especially in the factories during World War II. During this period, men's jeans had the zipper down the front, whereas women's jeans had the zipper down the right side.
By the 1960s, both men's and women's jeans had the zipper down the front.
In the United States during the 1950s, wearing of blue jeans by teenagers and young adults became symbolic of mild protest against conformity.
This was considered by some older adults as disruptive; for example, some movie theaters and restaurants refused to admit patrons who wore blue jeans.
During the 1960s the wearing of blue jeans became more acceptable and by the 1970s had become a general fashion in the United States, at least for informal wear.
Notably, in the mid-1950s the denim and textiles industry was revolutionized by the introduction of the stone-washing technique by GWG (Great Western Garment).
Entrepreneur, importer and noted eccentric, Donald Freeland of Edmonton, Alberta pioneered the method which helped to bring denim to a larger and more versatile market.
Denim suddenly became an attractive product for all age groups and Freeland became one of the most important innovators in the history of denim and denim products.
It should be noted, also, that Freeland contributed to a variety of other denim textile developments throughout his career with Great Western Garments (GWG) Acceptance of jeans continued through the 1980s and 1990s to the point where jeans are now a wardrobe staple, with the average North American owning seven pairs[citation needed].
Being imported American products, especially in the case of the Soviet Union which restricted hard currency imports, jeans were somewhat expensive.
In Spain they are known as vaqueros or "cowboys" and in Chinese, jeans are known as niuzaiku (SC: 牛仔裤), literally, "cowboy pants" (trousers), indicating their association with the American West, cowboy culture, and outdoors work.
Jeans can be worn very loose in a manner that completely conceals the shape of the wearer's lower body, or they can be snugly fitting and accentuate the body. Historic photographs indicate that in the decades before they became a staple of fashion, jeans generally fit quite loosely, much like a pair of bib overalls without the bib. Indeed, until 1960, Levi Strauss denominated its flagship product "waist overalls" rather than "jeans".

In 1951 bikinis were banned from the Miss World Contest following the crowning of Miss Sweden in a bikini and subsequent protests with a number of countries threatening to withdraw.
In 1957, however, Brigitte Bardot's bikini in And God Created Woman created a market for the swimwear in the US, and in 1960, Brian Hyland's pop song "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" inspired a bikini-buying spree.
In 1962, an icon was born as Bond Girl Ursula Andress emerged from the sea wearing a white bikini in Dr. No. Finally the bikini caught on, and by 1963, the movie Beach Party, starring Annette Funicello (emphatically not in a bikini, by mentor Walt Disney's personal request) and Frankie Avalon, led a wave of films that made the bikini a pop-culture symbol.
In Malta, bikinis took time to be introduced.
In the 1960s, the police fended off Bishop Michael Gonzi's request to ban bikini clad tourists following fear of compromising Malta as a tourist destination.
Malta Labour Party girls felt safe putting on bikinis during beach parties but this was unacceptable by those supporting the Nationalist Party.
On beaches and certain parks in Europe, the top part of the bikini is sometimes not worn.

Google Adsense
I just found this on th net ...
A lot of the Internet uses Google Adsense, and yet very little is known about how it works. I downloaded the show_ads.js script that every adsense page references, and analyzed it to try to see how it works. I found lots of hidden features along the way. The google show_ads.js script has been optimized for quick loading. Google has removed all whitespace, and renamed variables and funcitons to have single letter names. While this is good for fast page loading, it is not so good for understanding what it does. So I ran this through my Javascript PrettyPrinter, and then renamed the functions and some variables based on what I think they do.
